Yeast Infection question, and treatment?
I think I have a yeast infection, I started having vaginal soreness a few days ago, my labia minora feels a bit enlarged/swollen, and sex has been a bit uncomfortable. Then I noticed white discharge on my underwear. It does not burn of itch. The only itch that I experience is when I use the bathroom and wipe with toilet paper, but no burning at all. Today after using toilet paper, I noticed my clitoris felt a bit sore and I also looked inside my vagina and noticed it was red. Is this a yeast infection? What is the best over the counter treatment? Thank you!

A yeast infection can certainly cause soreness and swelling. I’m surprised that you’re not itching worse than what you are. The discharge is usually thick and white, something like cottage cheese or sometimes even like a thick paste. If you’ve never had one before it’s always best to see the doctor to be certain. There are over the counter treatments available or a prescription called Diflucan which is a pill. The pill is hassle free while the cream or suppositories (Monistat) are a little messy.
Thats what it sounds like to me. I would try Vagisil or Monistat and the stuff you get and deposit it into your vagina. It should work, unless it is something that needs a prescription. The doctor can give you a medication that is a pill that you take once and it clears it up. I had a problem with them a little after I gave birth to my daughter and my periods were trying to regulate and I used the one time pill. Worked wonders!
