yeast infection help?
I got my first yeast infection a while ago, not quite sure why… but it happened (im a girl).. but i cured it. while i had it, i didnt quite know what it was so my boyfriend and i had sex once or twice. after i had gotten rid of it, about a month later my boyfriend and i had sex again and i got another yeast infection! so i got rid of that…. only to have it happen again a month later from having sex. could he have a yeast infection and keeps giving it back to me? he isnt showing any symptoms or anything though… if so, how can he get rid of it.. are there any natural methods or medications you dont need a prescription for?

Men often don’t show the same symptoms, and sometimes not any at all, but it is possible that he has it and is giving it back to you. He should get treated as well, and see if that helps.
Don’t feel bad. Some people are also just more prone to getting them. Wearing thong underwear can increase your chances of getting them, as can not cleaning up right after having sex, wearing damp clothes or a wet bathing suit for too long, or having taken antibiotics recently just to name a few (they kill ALL the bacteria sometimes and can allow yeast to overgrow if there is no natural flora to keep it in check).
You can try some of the OTC treatments like Monistat or Vagisil. It might be better though for him to just get a script for something. A woman’s GYN will often treat her partner too if there is something that can be passed back and forth. My dad does for his patients and so does my GYN.
If you find you are just prone to getting them (I got them a lot when I worked on a farm and was outside all day hot and sweaty taking care of the horses and the barn). Your doctor may be able to help you find ways to prevent them if you can find a likely cause (for me it was a job hazard basically – you can’t change your clothes ever 10 mins at work). You can also try to eat a lot of live-culture yogurt or take a probiotic supplement to help keep the body’s natural flora up.

Yes, it looks like you’re passing it back and forth. Guys don’t always show symptoms of it. He can get any over the counter medicine that is labeled for jock itch or athletes foot. Wal-Mart also sells a generic anti-fungal cream under the brand name Equate.
Yes, a guy can carry the bacteria for a yeast infection without showing any symptoms. HE needs to go see a doctor and be treated.
Reoccuring yeast infections can also be a sign of other problems. Also, bacterial vaginosis can sometimes appear to be a yeast infection but it is actually a serious STD that should be treated with antibiotics. If you keep getting these over and over, you need to see a doctor to be sure it is not something more serious. Not getting treatment for an STD can lead to PID (pelvic inflammatory disease) and potentially make you infertile (not able to have babies)
I had this same problem for months. Some women are more prone to yeast infections. He may have one, so he needs to be checked, some guys do not show any outward signs of having a yeast infection. But what I found was that I only got them when we used condoms, so I had to go on the pill. You also want to make sure you are well lubricated during sex. If the sex is to dry than that creates friction increasing your chances of having a UTI or Yeast infection. Also if you douche after sex, that could create a yeast infection in its self.
Yes, it is possible that he is reinfecting you with it. he should get some of the cream that is sold for yeast infections, I don’t remember the name of it, and use it. You need to be very careful and not have sex until both of you are free of it. Otherwise, you’ll just keep passing it back & forth. Also, you need to be sure you keep very clean and dry. I had to start wearing cotton panties only to stay free of it. Hope this helps.
yo im just a boy but from me and my girlfriend have sex and when you dont like clean out the sperm that can give you a yeast infection. there are alot of things that it could be. or you may just be reallly easily pron to yeast infections.
but if continues you should really goto the docters.
You can both buy and eat probiotic yogurt which will help kill excess yeast in your body and prevent or eliminate infections. It has to have "live active cultures – probiotics" to work. Regular yogurt will not work. Also, if you are on any kind of antibiotics it can cause yeast infections. It is possible it is not a yeast infection, but some other infection (like a bacterial infection – not necessarily an STD). It would probably be best to see a doctor. If you have a Planned Parenthood in your area they can help. Finally, and this might sound strange, if your boyfriend is performing oral sex on you make sure that he is not drinking a bunch of sugar before he goes down there (like a Coke) because this too can cause yeast to overgrow.
