Alexsandra, Nope, the creams nor pills will "cure" you — they just treat the symptoms (sometimes) and not the actual yeast infection. In fact, the reason that they don’t work many times is because they are fundamentally making the environment in the body more acidic.
Candida (yeast or fungus) normally lives in our bodies (mouth, digestive tract and genitals) and are held in balance by the healthy flora (good bacteria). The bad foods we eat, alcohol, antibiotics, birth control, other medicines, stress, etc…. takes the body’s pH level to a more acidic level. This actually kills the good flora, allowing Candida overgrowth. Treating yeast infections with something that is going to cause acidity (like creams), feeds and breeds the yeast.
I have a better suggestion for you that my sister (who used to get infections before almost every period) tried and had great success with. It’s a natural yeast infection treatment that works almost immediately if you follow the steps ………..
I don’t think Vagisil will cure you of a yeast infection as it only takes care of the symptomatic itching. I use Monsistat for the occasional yeast infection. I usually will get the 7 day, I know they have 3 and 5 day treatments but I’m old school. After the second day of treatment, or sometimes even the day after, the itching won’t drive you nuts.
If it doesn’t improve after a few days, call your gyno. There could be something more insidious going on.
