I have been researching the effects of tea tree oil on curing a yeast infection. it does work and does help with vaginal itching. But most cures suggest soaking a tampon in the oil and inserting. I do not have tampons so I was wondering if cottonballs could be used as a substitute?

I took the prefilled Monistat 1 ovule 4 days ago and I swear within a couple of hours the painfully intense burining/itching of the inside stopped almost completely!! When I woke up the next morning, I couldn't even tell I had a yeast infection. Well, I am still having very very slight external vaginal itching but not alot. I'm also having slight odorless discharge. I am pretty certain it was a yeast infection I had b/c after taking the Monistat, my symptoms almost completely went away but why am I still iching even slightly after 4 days when it's supposed to be a 1 day treatment?
