On the 5th I was diagnosed as having bacterial vaginosis, and my gynocologist put me on a 5-day vaginal gel antibiotic. 4 days after I had completely finished the antibiotics I was in the shower when I noticed a white clumpy gritty discharge, much to the consistency of wet paper. There was a good amount of it and it had no odor. I’ve never seen this before and it scared me half to death! I looked around on the web and it seems that that type of discharge is commonly associated with a yeast infection. The only thing is, I don’t have any other yeast infection symptoms – like itching or burning or anything, there’s none of that. So what is this? I talked to my gyno on the phone and she was just as confused. I have an appointment tomorrow. Any ideas?

I started treatment for a yeast and bacterial infection…my doctor prescribed my some antibiotics and vaginal gel. before i started the treatment the only symptom that I had was a fishy odor now that I have started the treatment i now have white cottage like discharge which I did NOT have before I started to take the medication is this suppose to happen?

I am currently recovering from a yeast and bacterial infection i took my pill for the yeast and am currently on precribed vaginal gel I will be done with my 5th application on wednesday…

my question is how soon AFTER I FINISH MY TREATMENT wilL I be able to have sex again (I know my doctor told me not to have sex while on the treatment) I ask this becuase I want to make sure that my infections are gone becuase…me and my partner perform oral sex on each other and I would not want him to go "down there" if the infection are not completly gone?

On Friday, October 24, 2008 i went to my doctor and was diagnose with having a vaginal yeast infection. She give me two different types of medication to take. However the day after on Saturday, October 25,2008 the day after my appointment i got my period. Therefore i was only available to take the oral medicine(Flunconazole) and not the vaginal medicine (Metronidazole Vaginal Gel 0.75%). Today, Saturday, November 1, 2008 my period finish and tonight was my first time taking the vaginal medicine. Today was six time taking the vaginal medication. I am WONDER IS IT OK TO SEX? OR WHEN IS IT OK? When i finish the taking the medicine? I think my period flush the yeast out of my system because i don’t see the discharge any more. IS IT OK FOR ME TO HAVE SEX? Or should finish the last dose then go back to the doctor for a check before have sex again?
