I recently got a urinary tract infection and went to the health services where they prescribed macrobid. I kept up with the antibiotics very well, but immediately after finishing the pills, I noticed a few symptoms of yeast infection. Nothing severe or anything. I’m not even sure if it was yeast infection. But then I began getting UTI symptoms again. This is just about 2 days after I stop medication. What could be wrong?? This is really bugging me. I was told by a friend that because my UTI symptoms went away and then came back, it probably means my bacteria is NOT drug resistant because if it was, the symptoms would not have stopped… What else can be the problem? Did the discharge from the yeast infection symptoms maybe spread bacteria back and led to another UTI?
And if it IS because the bacteria is now drug resistant, what can doctors do? Prescribe something stronger? I’m worried that eventually it’ll be resistant to all drugs… Please help!

Hi guys,
I asked a related question a while back about this. As before, if you’re sensitive to subjects involving the female ‘down below’, I suggest you look away now.
For the last few months, I have been experiencing relativley heavy discharge, and also a kind of unpleasant scent from down there. I’m really hygenic and everything, but I don’t use any soaps or chemicals. I’m not sexually active either. It seems to clear up when I’m on my period, but maybe a week after my period, it comes back.
I’ve been looking into some of the main female problems that sound kind of like this, you know, Bacterial Vaginosis, Yeast Infections, Thrush etc, and I was wondering whether you guys knew whether this sounded anything like either of these infections, and whether I should be worried?
If so, are there any natural remedies I can use to cure whatever it is that I have?
I’ve recently resorted to washing a little bit more regularly and using looser underwear, but it still seems to be a problem, especially at school, what with the awkward scent and all, and it’s kind of worrying me.
I REALLY do not want to have to consult my mother, or any doctors or anything, especially if it turns out that I have nothing to worry about. But if it sounds like a major problem, I guess I will have to :S
Thanks

I have had a yeast infection for just over 3 years now. It started when I was pregnant with my second child. I have gone to many doctors and have taken all kinds of medication, but the ‘yeast infection’ still won’t go away. I am only calling it a ‘yeast infection’ cause that’s what my doctor says it is.
I am not having any of the classic signs of a yeast infection. There is no itching, burning when I pee, and the discharge isn’t ‘cottage cheese’ like.
The only signs that I am having is a smell when my husband and I have sex, and the discharge is like a yellow, and is very thick. When my husband and I have sex the next day his penis is call raw and chapped up. All of my pap test have come back normal with some yeast.
I am tired of dealing with this and was wondering if anyone out there has gone through this and might know what it is, or how to cure it. And if I had a hysterectomy (we are not planning on having anymore children) would it cure the infection?
Also when I am on my period I am very heavy and I pass large clots. The doctor tells me that its normal to pass clots cause I have had two kids.

I am 24 years old. I got my first yeast infection when I was 11. A few years went by and I was fine. Then, when I was about 17 I started getting them all of the time. If it ever does go away, then it comes right back. I have been to several doctors with no luck. They tested me for diabetes and HIV several times, both came back negative. They did C&S on them and told me I did’t have a resistant strain, but I constantly have one and it is really effecting my life, mood, marriage, etc. Any suggestions, or has anyone been through this?
