My gyno diagnosed me with a yeast infection on the 24th. She prescribed me a pill called "fluconazole" to treat it. Her directions were to take the first pill that same day, and take the second pill 3 days later, which was today. She also said to buy vagisil external itch cream for my itching and irritation.
Well the itching and irritation has gone away, most likely because of the vagisil though. How long do I have to wait until I know my yeast infection is completely gone?

I bought Azo yeast to cure my yeast infection, the directions say take 3 a day if you have an infection it, but it also says it cures symptons such as itching and burning. The area "down there" doesnt itch or burn anymore but it smells a little funny and when i have sex it swells up alot…do i still have a yeast infection even if im not itching?? It itches a little but once in awhile nothing serious and I havent took the azo yeast yet.

Ever since I had my first yeast infection things have felt different.
I went to my OBGYN and he gave me a prescription for vaginal cream and a 1 time pill to use, but I feel like it never went away and he never told me it was a yeast infection specifically. I had a very expensive pap smear done and because of travel I never got to pick up my results or extend further testing, but they never contacted me so I assume there was no emergency to give the results.
I had itching, discomfort, and discharge (I think?) that is very light tannish and in the form of beads of dead skin (if you have ever been to a public bath house and had your skin scrubbed you know what I mean) that you can squish between your fingers and it leaves a dry feeling (I’m very very very sorry for the graphic there, but I’m wondering if this is what people mean when they say your discharge can be described as cottage cheese but I see cottage cheese as wet and chunky mashed together which isn’t what I picture).
I bought another brand of vaginal cream because some people suggested trying another company’s. That didn’t help either and I made sure I followed the directions and took it consistently.
My discharge still hasn’t gone away or the itching and there still is no odor. It is embarrassing because I’ve recently become sexually active and I don’t know if it is safe to have sex or not even with protection in fear that it might spread.
I read something about how the yeast can become resistant to certain ingredients and can’t be cured and I also took the new test that vagasil came out with to test your PH level and it said my PH was normal.
Should I just keep trying on different types of creams?
Oh, and I’m not a dirty person either and don’t douche just use natural water and dry.
This problem is driving me crazy does anyone have any suggestions or helpful information?

I was just reading the directions for the 3 days yeast infection treatment and it says not to have sexual intercourse while using this treatment because it could damage the condom, so i was just wondering if anyone knew how long you have to wait after you’ve used it for the three days, or if you can just not have sex while your using it?
