I have been on Yaz for almost a month now. Within the first week I developed a yeast infection. I saw my ob/gyn and have now taken 2 rounds of Diflucan, a seven day (vaginal) prescription treatment, and now another vaginal treatment that is one dose (still waiting to see if that one helps). I recall getting chronic yeast infections while taking Yasmin several years ago, although at the time I didn’t see the connection. I’m wondering if it has anything to do with the hormone DRSP which is found in Yaz/Yasmin.
Anyone have the same problem? Were you able to tollerate any other BCP’s? I am interested in Loestrin 24, for the possibilty of short, light, or no periods. Also, the 24 active pills are supposed to decrease symptoms of PMS. Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks.

I’ve had chronic vaginal yeast infections for over a year, and they keep getting more and more severe it seems no matter what I do. The yeast keeps getting immune to antifungals and no matter what treatment I use it comes back within 3 days. It’s so bad, that it even grows effectively in some anti-fungal creams like miconozal and monostat. I’ve tried everything from dieting to douching with hydrogen peroxide. Lately I have been getting horrible cramps and nausea. I’m afraid that this condition will kill me. Can someone please help?

I had unprotected sex six months ago. I’m getting tested tomorrow…but it will take a week or two before I get test results. AND I’m scared.
I read somewhere that women who do have HIV get chronic yeast infections because of their weakened immune system. Wouldn’t that mean I should’ve gotten sick from coming in contact with my neice who had the flu? Or gotten sick from my classmates who had colds or something? I haven’t gotten sick at all! (knock on wood)
Furthermore…I heard that if you don’t wait at least 9-10 for your yeast infection to be cured before having sex, it will come back again? So maybe all this time, I just haven’t cured it? My gyno prescribed these pills for me to take…it worked in the beginning..but now i feel immuned to it or something. I don’t know… someone help me!
FYI: I’m a 22 y/o female…I exercise a lot…I have a healthy diet (tofu, lean meat, veggies, whole wheat breads) and I do drink a lot with friends almost every weekend.
To Rea4154:
Yeast infections ARE ONE OF THE SYMPTOMS of HIV…I know that they are not the same. I know that yeast infections are not deadly. I never said that I was going to die from a yeast infection…but because I had concurrent yeast infections, I was worried that I was diagnosed with HIV (which I am not by the way…i just got my test results today..so YAY! on my part). You should read my question/details carefully…I’m not the idiot…you just made yourself look like a fool. By looking at your statistics…it seems like you only have 6% best answers…hmmm..i wonder why?

I am 24 years old. I got my first yeast infection when I was 11. A few years went by and I was fine. Then, when I was about 17 I started getting them all of the time. If it ever does go away, then it comes right back. I have been to several doctors with no luck. They tested me for diabetes and HIV several times, both came back negative. They did C&S on them and told me I did’t have a resistant strain, but I constantly have one and it is really effecting my life, mood, marriage, etc. Any suggestions, or has anyone been through this?

I just received a paper on unhealthy colons. That doctors finally discovered the real cause of 90% of all diseases. It is unhealthy colons. The Natural Medicine Association have come up with a cure and to get rid of the parasites that may and are living in our colons. The program they have is so costly at the start of .95.
I was wondering if there is anyone out there who knows a cheaper way to cleanse the human body of parasites?
The symptoms are…
Constipation or diarrhea, chronic yeast infections, chronic fungus on hand/toe nails or nails become brittle or lost their luster.
Getting sick or catching colds often, weight problems or rapid weight gain, acne, skin disorders,or skin dry or pal, mood swings or depression, premenstrual syndrome more intensified, low sex drive, lack of concentration, short term memory problems ,sleeping problems, being easily prone to diseases, frequent headaches, chronic urinary tract irritation/infections, arthritic bone pains, allergies, gas,ex….
Why don’t someone just put dewormer for humans on the market? They found it simple to for animals..why not humans?
