My dog has a yeast infection. I had an old Golden Retriever a few years back who developed a yeast infection and the vet treated it with antibiotics plus flushing out the ears and then putting drops in them. It went away for only a short time. His health went down hill fast and he was in great pain from hip displacia. I have recently read up on a type of fungus/yeast infection called Candida Albicans. It has all the same symptoms. Part of the cure is to give an enzyme that is found in yogurt. It said to give the dog Acidophilus to build up the natural enzymes in the stomach where this infection starts. The smell from the dogs body and ears are horrible. He gnaws at his feet and skin all the time. I have read from some of you that the ear canal and the stomach are not connected but you still went on to say give the dog a non grain food. This fungus/yeast infection works its way from the stomach and makes its way to most parts of the body, especially the ears.
So am trying the ear rinse of one part white vinegar to four parts water. twice a day, one Acidophilus a day and maybe some yogurt once a week. It can’t hurt. I also give him a children s antihistamine once a day for the itching. We will see how much better (if any) this will be then what the Vet prescribed for my other dog.

I have been to 2 gynos and they can’t figure it out. I have internal itching that hasn’t gone away for 3 months. I’ve tried all yeast infection treatments, been tested for every STD and vaginal problem , take acidophilus daily and tried using rephresh. Nothing helps! Any advice on what could help or what this is!

I’ve had a reoccurring yeast infection for almost a year. I’d get on right after sex, or before my period. I’ve tried Diflucan, and the infection came back a week later! UGH! Monistat7 only masks theproblem for a bit. It doesn’t actually cure anything.
So I decided to try natural cures. I was reading on acidophilus (good bacteria inside us).I want to get some from the drugstore.
I was wondering if this alone works, how many pills I take and when. I also have plain, no sugar added yogurt on stand by if this doesnt work. Do you have any other methods that have worked for you guys?
Thanks so much!

I heard by orally taking acidophilus 2 times daily it can cure a yeaste infection and vaginal bacterial infection. But I also heard inserting acidophilus capsules, it also does the same job but better. Does acidophilus really work as people say?

What are some simple treatments for vaginal thrush or a yeast infection?
Other than going to the doctors to get a medical script or going to the chemist and buying a medicine.
What are some simple remedies for a vaginal thrush or yeast infection?
Stuff like this:
HERBAL TREATMENT
Herbal Tea Bath
Add 500ml of strong calendula or thyme tea to a warm bath to alleviate itching.
OLD FASHIONED REMEDIES
Yoghurt
Insert a tablespoon of natural acidophilus yoghurt into the vagina at night, during times of infection.
Vinegar/Salt Bath
Add a cup of vinegar or salt to a warm bath as both ingredients will help to restore the pH balance.
