Should i buy more monistat to cure my yeast infection?

I found out i had one last sunday and i have been using the monistat 3 day treatment. I was wondering should i buy more monistat just in case. I still feel a little bit of discomfort but not as much as i did sunday. However, when i put in the applicators it burns like a lit match each time is this normal? Also, how long is it usually safe to have sex after a yeast infection? I know i got this yeast infection from using antibiotics. How do i prevent them from coming back?

The 3-day treatment should have cleared up the infection just fine. If you still feel you have symptoms, go to the doctor or clinic to make sure. If they say you have an abnormal amount of yeast still, they will recommend further treatment. As far as the discomfort caused by the medication, it is a normal side effect of the medicine. It can be irritating for the sensitive skin in the vagina. I would wait a couple days after you've finished the medicine to have sex. The medicine can decrease the effectiveness of latex in a condom, so if you use condoms you want to make sure to be safe with them. Preventing them from coming back can be done in a few ways. If you're on antibiotics, you can't really help that. But if you wear tight clothing where your body can't "breathe" it could cause it to come back. Also, don't wear a wet swimsuit for any longer than you have to. Yeast grows in warm and moist conditions, so that would basically be a breeding ground.
