I’ve had several yeast infections and in doing research online have found that there are several tips to prevent from getting them:
1. Eat at least a yogurt a day that contains live and active cultures (especially if you’re ever on an antibiotics, this is a must)
2. Never douhce
3. Don’t wear tight pants
4. Wear white cotton underwear
5. Try and stay away from baths, take showers
6. In the shower don’t use soap down there, only warm water or a gentle feminine wash that specially formulated for intimate cleansing
The yogurt has always worked really well for me when I’m on antibiotics, I’ve always gotten one when I took them and didn’t eat it so I’m thinking that this would probably work well at preventing them in general. Good luck!
go pee after sex…RIGHT after.
i was told that eating lots of yogurt will help clear up a yeast infection without having to use meds (the bacteria or something in the yogurt kills the infection). so, maybe if you can eat yogurt on a daily basis it will help prevent them.
It might be linked to you diabetes, so I think you need to discuss this with your doctor.
I have found that wearing cotton undies, not using harsh chemicals when washing or drying those undies, proper hygiene, eating yogurt, making sure your husband gets treated, and not wearing tight pants all helps.
definitely eat plenty of yogurt and wash well but don’t use scented soaps.
stay away from sugar and white flour products
no bubble baths
use unscented products
eat lots of yogurt
change your under ware a couple times a day
dry yourself really well
change out of damp clothes immediately
shower right after sexual activity
Stay away from some foods that trigger candida (yeast), like beer, balsamic vinegar, refined sugars, simple carbohydrates.
And, more important, do what I do: After every shower I take, I blow-dry my pubic area (just the outside, of course) and by doing this simple thing, I no longer have infections, cause humidity is yeast’s favorite food.
Sorry for being so direct but this reaaally worked for me.
My mother told me this a long time ago and the only time I ever had a full blown yeast infection was while I was taking a high dose of an antibiotic.
Run a small bath, half the amount of water you would normally use. Put about a half a box of baking soda into the water and then soak in it for about a half an hour. You should do this if you start to feel one coming on.
To prevent them make sure you are wearing underwear with a cotton crotch so its more breathable. Don’t wear too tight of clothing. Don’t leaving wet bathing suits on after getting out of the water. Don’t douche, because it makes it worse. Instead, opt for just plain water to clean yourself. You can self clean by using your finger and wiping the inside of your vagina daily to get rid of extra discharge (common when pregnant). Also, use the bathroom immediately after having sex, and make sure to clean really well.
