almost 39 weeks pregnant and having some bleeding. My midwife has ruled out placental bleeding through a diagnostic sonogram and now thinks the bleeding I am having my be an irritated cervix caused by a yeast infection I have. Anyone else ever have this??
She is having me start Monistat 3 day Treatment, did that cure your infection? Thank you

Its better to use the monistat 7 day treatment as those work better for yeast infections; the 3 day may relieve some of the symptoms but yeast usually needs to be killed slowly and the 7 day is safer in pregnancy. I used Diflucan which is an oral antibiotic for yeast infections (its a cat C same as monistat and is a one time pill dose) which knocked out my yeast infection. I too was having some bleeding but have not had any since I took the Diflucan. Good luck, they are irritating, get it taken care of.
I used 7 day treatments each time (I had them all the time while I was pregnant). It worked just fine. I actually called my dr and asked because I was like 38 weeks pregnant and I was scared it would be bad for my baby if I went into labor lol. Good luck, hope it clears up because yeast infections SUCK.
My doc always recomended using the monistat 7 while pregnant. Also because it’s longer it actually will kill the infection better. Everytime I used the monistat 3 day i ended up with another yeast infection a few days later because the infection wasn’t fully gone.
The 7 day treatment has worked for me all through my pregnancy. I’ve had 2 killer yeast infections and it cured them both! I am surprised your midwife is having you use this treatment so close to delivery though. I’ve heard it can be dangerous if you have the baby and the baby goes through the cream (Not sure how good that info was though) I hope your feeling better soon!!
