I have reoccuring yeast infections a lot. I bought a generic brand of acidophilus pills at Walmart. Does taking one a day help prevent and/or cure yeast infections starting?

Yes, probiotics are essential to try and get rid of candida. Taking probiotics "friendly" bacteria suppresses the growth of potentially harmful bacteria. You can also try a bowel detox. If you find your yeast infections keep occuring, you really need to start the candida diet in combination with probiotics. It’s very strict! no sugar, white flour and a lot more no nos lol but it eventually gets rid of the candida overgrowth!

Bacteria in your gastrointestinal tract will have no affect on any other part of your body, so no.
Edit: Note that gastrointestinal candida overgrowth is a fictitious condition with an equally ridiculous treatment.
Actual candidasis only affects those with a severely compromised immune system, but for some reason quacks have latched on to it.
If you have them recurring, you should definitely take a look at some other solution… While acidophilus might help, tests show they don’t work for everybody… What you can do is check out a site that has a lot of interesting data on it (including candida treatments etc.), like articles, videos, etc. and read a bit more about the subject and see what would work for you after that… I checked this site out thoroughly and it seems to be pretty ok… at least for me… Who knows, maybe also for you.
Hope it will help you.
