Does anyone know if a yeast infection, if left untreated, will go away on its own?
I know this is kind of weird to ask people I dont know, but I have had infections before and known right away and treated it; but this time a culture came back from the Doc saying I had one. I have no symptoms whatsoever but he wants to prescribe me a pill to make it go away. I am wondering if this will make me sick if I leave it alone or if there is anything wrong w/out taking medicines since it isn’t bothering me? The Doc office is closed right now or else I would call him. Thanks in advance for any FACTS you all know of. ![]()

I would have never guessed this:
Yeast infections can cause severe discomfort but rarely cause serious health problems. Left untreated, vaginal yeast infections often clear up on their own, usually when menstruation begins. Menstrual blood raises the vaginal pH, causing the number of yeast cells to decrease because they can’t grow in the pH present during menstruation.
