Cure for Yeast Infection when not able to go to Doctor’s yet?

For a female though. I heard Vagisil? It’s just started to become itchy. Thick yellow discharge that smells and it’s a confirmed Yeast Infection. She’s not able to go to the doctors for a few days, and I don’t think waiting is safe, so what can be done?
And if I’m the cause of her Yeast Infection, should I get checked?
Is there anything in pill form that can be taken?

Go to Wal-Mart and buy a 3 day Monistate (SP?) treatment. It works wonderfully. =)
Monistat. walmart anywhere 7 day treatment..
You can get Monistat or Canestan or any other over the counter yest infection treatment the pharmacist suggests. Others are listed at the 2nd link. Vagisil will not help- it is an anti-itch product but will not help the cause.
Many people will also recommend eating yogurt with "probiotic" culture. Don’t let the souped-up advertising machine fool you- it’s nothing exotic. You can pay ridiculous amounts of money for ridiculously small containers of "probiotic" yogurt…or just buy a tub of natural, unsweetened yogurt that contains lactobacillus bacteria. That is most "natural" yogurts. The science isn’t all that clear but it may help restore the bacterial balance in her vagina.
Now if the yeast infection does not go away or keeps coming back, she should see the doctor to check for other causes that may be giving similar symptoms.
And while men can get a yeast infection, it is very rare. However you should avoid sex until her infection is cured lest you re-infect her.
These rae the following over-the counter medications she can use:
1. Miconazole
2. TButoconazole
3.Butoconazole
4. Clotrimazole
They should be applied on the affected area for 7 days. If symptoms persist after 7 days, better go see the doctor.
